Key Ethernet-APL technology fulfills all promises and introduces digitization to every corner of the processing plant: high-speed transmission of large amounts of data is easy and can also be carried out in potentially explosive areas.

Transmission of huge amounts of data over long distances at 10 Mbps is at least 300 times faster than in the case of current technologies, such as HART or fieldbus buses. Users can therefore access information from devices that can be easily diagnosed and configured.

Ethernet-APL Rail switch - the latest FieldConnex innovation - allows several applications to simultaneously send requests for information from remote devices. Diagnostics through the physical layer itself allows to detect and eliminate the gradual deterioration of the quality of installations and increasing the number of errors. Overall, APL Ethernet technology helps keep production quality and plant availability high. The switch also reports measurement results from the physical layer to the fiber optic installation.

Specially developed SFP modules connect the switch to the network using single- and multi-mode fiber optic cables. They support cables up to 30 km long. They have been certified as an accessory for working with the switch and can be installed in Zone 2/Div zones. 2.
