Yet, remember, that the blog created in the WordPress domain is not your own. You do not have access to the database, you cannot monetize it either. Choosing this type of blog also involves a limited number of functionalities. In this option, you have an access to fewer WordPress templates and plugins than creating a blog via wordpress.org.

Founding a blog via wordpress.org is not free, because it requires you to buy your own domain and hosting. So, you become the owner of the site, but in return, you have to take responsibility for it. For example, you need to take care of backups yourself. Besides, a blog founded via wordpress.org gives you more options. For example, you can install WordPress templates purchased on the Internet, and add them to your website. It is impossible with a free blog founded via wordpress.com.

Have you decided to create a blog on wordpress.com? Here's how to do it step by step:

• Go to www.wordpress.com.

• Click on Get started.

• Fill in the data for your blog (for example what it will be about).

• Choose a name for your blog (you can opt for free offers or paid options).

• Select the program you want to use: Personal, Business or Premium (if you do not want to pay, click on Start with free).

• Create an account by entering your email.

• Finished. Now you only have to choose your WordPress template, install the plugins you need, and start writing on the blog.

Creating a blog via wordpress.org

If you have business plans related to a blog, and you want to be its owner, decide on a blog founded via wordpress.org:

• Buy a domain from your domain provider (first read how to choose a domain name for your blog as well as a domain provider).

• Buy a good and failure-free server (buy a hosting in a company where technical support is immediate).

• Configure the domain for your server (you can add the domain in the administration panel of your server).

• Log in to the server administration panel and find the Software section or similar.

• In the application list, select WordPress and click on Install.

• Fill in the application settings by selecting the protocol type (http://), domain name, e-mail etc.

• You will get the login and password to your blog via e-mail.

• Log in to your blog using the following address: yourdomainname.com/wp-admin.

• Finished. Now you can start blogging.
